Drunk Driver Crashes Into Light Rail Train In Hoboken: NJ Transit

A drunk driver was arrested after they crashed into a light rail train on the early morning of Friday, Oct. 25, authorities said.

At 12:15 a.m., a Hudson-Bergen light rail vehicle was struck by the vehicle at Paterson Plank Road crossing near 2nd Street station in Hoboken, NJ Transit said.

The operator of the light rail vehicle claimed back pain and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, NJ Transit said. There were no injuries reported to the eight customers on board, NJ Transit said. 

The driver of the motor vehicle was arrested by the New Jersey Transit Police for DUI, NJ Transit said. The incident remains under investigation, NJ Transit said.
